  • Set the date early, launch with a longer lead time than our usual 16 weeks. Having the content firmed up with L&OD quickly had a great impact on delegate numbers and ways of working
  • Mix of breakout and styles worked well. We have to balance the layout of the rooms with the number of delegates attending
  • Have more L&OD participation throughout the event including on the KF stand on the day (go out with stand rota 6 months in advance)
  • Co-chairs are not needed
  • More social care voices throughout 
  • Get more people earlier on in their careers involved as speakers
  • Get a videographer for a promotional video for future summits
  • Trial Bing ads as in 2023 11% of traffic to event booking page from there.
  • Want to try and reach pre-covid SPEX activity for leadership events
  • Engagement around Twitter works really well with this topic and audience
  • Engagement activities on the day where we ask them a question and it’s tweeted out works well. a good way to get insight into key issues. These insights are then shared with wider teams which can be useful for feedback, ideas for sense-making content, audience insight etc. Can we allocate marketing budget / pool budget together for something.

    • diverse range of high calibre speakers. The topic ‘compassionate leadership’ was also popular, which is clear in the spike in sales.
    • The Guardian was the number one source of traffic to the webpage in 2019. This outranked traffic from The King’s Fund emails, which is rare. We had developed a good relationship with The Guardian Jobs and run marketing contra deals for a few years pre-covid. Does this relationship still exist?
    • If we plan on commissioning additional content to promote this event there is lots of learning in the  2019 evaluation report

    Aiming for 2 sponsors – one breakout, one breakfast and up to 6 exhibitors. Typically quite challenging to fill leadership SPEX, but with the long lead in last year and really strong delegate list – did manage to on board a couple of exhibitors. David’s having some conversations – originated from ‘those who dare’. 

    Early flags – if we are expecting the same numbers, need to make sure the breakfast sessions can be streamed.
