Historical fiction are stories based on real life historical events and set in a historical time and place. However, some characters may have never existed in that time BUT may be included to tell a better story. For example, in your history books, there may not be a record of actual dialogue, food eaten, clothes worn, routes travelled so you, as the author, will insert information that is thought to be historically accurate for the period.

In this video you will watch an actual historical event. This happened in America in 1773, when the British, who ruled America at that time decided to tax them over the amount of tea they buy. This is so the British can get more money from the colonies (or America). The colonies have now become the United States of America after the Americans fought for independence from British rule.
