         <description><![CDATA[<div>Born: January 18, 1689, Château La Brède<br>Died: February 10, 1755, Paris<br>Born into a family of modest wealth, Charles-Louis was sent to school at the Collège de Juilly, that provided education on enlightened and modern lines. He then went to Paris to get experience in law. He married Jeanne de Lartigue, who gave him two daughters and a son. Later, his uncle left his estates, with the barony of Montesquieu, to him. Now, he worked on advancing his knowledge of the sciences. </div>]]></description>
