- Cataracts are the largest cause of blindness in the world
- There are three types of cataracts: subcapsular cataracts (happens in the back of the lens), nuclear cataracts (happens in the nucleus of the lens) and cortical cataracts (happens in the 'lens cortex', which surround the lens' nucleus)

Babies can get congenital cataracts. Some of the reasons for this is that there are hereditary issues that cause the cataracts.
