And Steve is worried and O’Briens thinks they are going to lose the case so Steve has difficulty to trust her. After some time, the court started and Ms. Dorothy More came. Dorothy is King’s cousin and King really had no job at the time, so he came to Dorothy’s house to buy and give her a lamp as a present. It was at 3:30 when King came to her house. Dorothy said that the lamp broke and that she threw it away but she had no proof of it. Next person was Mr. George Nipping who was in the same neighborhood as King for 17 years and know that King is left-handed. But the shooter had the wound on the left side of the body so he was right-handed. In the break,  Mrs. O’Brien’s said that Steve needs to take the stand in order to make the jury think that Steve is innocent and to break the link between him and King. If King took the stand, he would be in jail since when King was arrested he said that he didn’t know Bobo, but it was a lie with the statements of Bobo against King. If King doesn’t testify, Steve will make the tie between him and King even stronger. So Steve needs to make the jury well believed of Steve. O’Brien’s made a game of a cup. She ask questions to Steve, when the cup is face up the answers are good but if the cup is down he needs to reformulate his answer that is wrong. Two things that contested Steve was that Cruz said Steve was the lookout and that Bobo said Steve came out of the drugstore before the robbery. When Steve took the stand, he was confident with his answers and denied that he had nothing to do with the robbery. Steve said that instead of being the lookout of the robbery, he was taking mental notes in his neighborhood for his film which Mr. Sawicki said was true. Steve has acquaintances against Bobo, Cruz and King so he knows them casually but not like friends. Sawicki is always supporting Steve since he says that Steve is honest and made an honest film. After Briggs says that the jury needs to reject the testimonies of the other men’s against King to return a verdict of not guilty to King. OBriens says that guilt has not been proven of Steve and asks the jury to use all evidence to make sure to return a verdict of not guilty. And Petrocelli says that Steve mad a moral decision and was part of the robbery so she wants the jury to bring a measure of justice. While the jury is figuring out the verdict, in the waiting game, there is King and Steve in the cell and Steve thinks he should make an appeal like the other prisoners. He doesn’t know what decision he made but he is worried about the panic around him. Steve knows what is right and what is truth without doubt. After the waiting game, the jury finally made the verdict of not guilty to Steve. Steve parents are filled with happiness and joy. Sometimes, Steve makes films of himself of his reflection in the mirror which makes his mother confused. His mother is still happy except for O’Brien’s and Steve’s dad who were moving away from Steve. But Steve mother still supports Steve a lot. Steve was thinking about it.
