It means "fire keepers."<br><br>Potawatomi artists are known for their <a href="http://www.native-languages.org/quillwork.htm">quill embroidery</a>, <a href="http://www.native-languages.org/baskets.htm">basketry</a>, and <a href="http://www.native-languages.org/beadwork.htm">floral beadwork</a>.
