This is the corner of my back porch where I do most of my work. Well, early in the morning before it turns into a hot box! I also work in a study room at the public library (zero distractions) or my dining room table (ever so many distractions). This is the baby bear of work spaces. No one bothers me, but I do have my stack of emergency books in the corner of the table in case I need a quick break. (Not a great idea, but ever so necessary.) As it gets colder, I will be forced to move to one of the more temperature controlled areas, but for now, this is my sweet spot! You can't see the view because it is eeeeeeearly in the morning, but I have a delightful view of my neighbor's house and the traffic going by on the street. It's quite a dull view, but very easy to ignore and focus on work!

How could one Starbucks be that different from the myriad other Starbucks across the globe? Well, I have auditioned many local Starbucks, as well in a few far flung cities, and this one consistently wins my blue ribbon. The staff is by far the friendliest, they make the best cloud macchiatos and pumpkin cream cold brews, and there is plenty of seating with regular *and* USB plugs. I find the constant chatter and clanging the perfect white noise. My house is too quiet and my dog is too clingy for me to concentrate on homework. Plus, I don't have the specter of unwashed laundry hanging over me here. My usual drink (which all the baristas know by heart)? Trenta iced green tea, unsweetened, with light ice. I am in a study room at the library on campus. I typically come on Monday and Thursday nights, so that I can treat the online classes like an in-person class. I'm happy that the weather has given us some nice afternoon temps so I can still work out here if I get home from school early enough. Often in cooler weather I have my work strewn all over my dining room table. I believe this winter I'll set up a true office area so I can maintain a clearer living area and keep some better posture while working. I'll miss my little outdoor sanctuary though. With the four of us plus a dog in a small condo, there’s not much space for a desk. This one is squished into the space between the living and dining rooms and usually becomes a dumping ground for everything. I sometimes migrate my work to the recliner or coffee table or dining table depending on how much space I need or my mood. If I don't, I get bored and more easily distracted. So, when I'm home, this is my desk. My parents got it for me as a gift a few years ago so that I can keep my postcard materials handy. It's turned into a disaster, as you can see my entire house is. I had to literally stand on my stoop to get this photo, if you want to know how small the house is. But this space is nice because I can have the door open for light behind me and music is right there if I want to listen. If I'm not here, I'm at one of the three coffee shops in in downtown Winchester. (I don't count Dunkin Donuts. I'm not doing schoolwork at a Dunkie Ds.) I'll go to whichever has an open seat - a hot commodity! Anywhere more comfortable and I do not get anything done and am interrupted often. The view out the window is of my yard and the woods behind it, which is one of my favorite views in the world. It is also by the heat/ac vent, so depending on the time of year, I have an open window, cool or hot air as needed.
