         <title>Personalized Overview</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I chose the healthcare industry because I think it is one of the greatest applications of AI affecting human life. Technology in medicine has fascinated me since long ago especially how computers can help physicians diagnose and heal patients faster. AI in healthcare is utilized for so many reasons from reading X-rays and predicting diseases to computer nurses reminding patients to take their medication. I like how it brings together science, technology, and real human concern. What interests me the most about this subject is how much it can benefit healthcare for all. AI can assist in detecting issues early, save time, and even make hospitals more efficient. But at the same time  it also creates important concerns about privacy, data security, and whether humans will ever have confidence in leaving their health in machines' hands.</p><p>In my Padlet  I will be emphasizing three examples that show how AI is being used in medicine today- AI for diagnosis, virtual nursing assistants, and predictive analytics. All three show a different facet of how technology is helping physicians and patients. I think it is important to know about both the advantages and the issues that are associated with it because medicine affects all of us.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1: AI in Medical Diagnosis</p><p>One of the biggest areas in which AI is helping medicine is in imaging and diagnostics. AI software can interpret X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans in order to detect such items as tumors, breaks, and diseases that might be missed by doctors. For example AI technology is already being used to help detect early breast cancer earlier than traditional techniques. What I like about this is that it gives doctors more help-not to supplant them but to help them to make more accurate and correct diagnoses. It has the potential of saving lives by finding diseases sooner and allowing patients to receive proper treatment sooner.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>2: Virtual Nursing Assistants</p><p>Virtual assistants and AI chatbots are becoming more and more common at clinics and hospitals. They can answer patient questions, remind people to take medication, or even call to see how symptoms are. A good example of one of them is "Molly," a virtual nurse that patients interact with after surgery. I think this is especially helpful for people who need extra help at home or can't see their doctor right away. The trial is to verify these computer nurses are accurate and that people are still comfortable talking about their health with a computer.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>3: Predictive Analytics</p><p>AI can also use wide quantities of data to predict health threats before they are a concern. For example it can look at patient histories and determine who might be vulnerable to heart disease or diabetes. Hospitals use this information to prevent readmissions and create better treatments. I think that this is possibly one of the coolest things about AI in medicine because it's preventing rather than allowing people to get ill. It shows how smart technology can help us stay healthy in the long run.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Future Trends and Ethical Considerations</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>AI medicine is advancing at such a fast pace that it's hard to keep up. In the near future I think we'll see even more advanced uses like robotic surgery medicine and AI that can foresee disease years before symptoms even occur. robots are being used in some hospitals to aid in the operating room and AI programs that can create treatment plans based on a person's genes are no longer in science fiction. Wearable health technology like smartwatches that track your heart rate or sleep s another huge trend that uses AI to help people keep track of their health on a daily basis.But with all these great potentialities go some very real ethical issues. There's the privacy problempatients' medical data is very sensitive and AI systems do collect a great deal of it. And there's fear about bias if AI is learning from bad or biased data it could make bad predictions or discriminate against categories of people unfairly. There is also the risk that people will rely too much on machines and lose trust in human doctors. In order to go forward safely, I think that there must be open disclosure and clear guidelines when it comes to AI use in medicine. Patients must always retain control over how their data are handled and AI programs must be thoroughly tested prior to being trusted to treat patients health.  I do think that AI has the potential to make medicine smarter and fairer but only when used with caution and  integrity.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Societal Impact</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Healthcare AI is already changing society in big ways. It's getting physicians to diagnose more quickly making hospitals more productive, and even giving people more control of their own health through apps and devices. To mention just a few people now can track their heart rate, oxygen saturation and sleep patterns directly on their phones. This personalizes healthcare and makes it more accessible.</p><p>But AI is changing the workplace as well. For instance, parts of what previously were done by technicians or nurses can now be automated. That conserves time, but it also poses the risk that workers can be forced to be retrained in order to stay current. And then there is the issue of trust not everyone wishes to know that a computer helped make their diagnosis.</p><p>AI also raises fairness issues. If biased data are used by hospitals to implement systems some patients will be given poor care compared to others. And because AI systems come at a cost richer hospitals and countries will be more helped than poorer countries. With these challenges I am convinced that AI has a overwhelmingly positive effect on society. It helps doctors make better decisions, better treats patients, and can make medicine more equal if applied responsibly. The key is to make sure that humans stay involved and that technology is used to complement, not replace, the human dimensions of medicine.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>By doing this project I was able to see firsthand just how powerful AI really is especially in something as precious and important as medicine. What I figured out was that AI can accelerate and make it more accurate but it also creates some very serious issues about privacy and trust. The hardest part was trying to limit my examples because there are so many uses of AI in medicine. This project taught me that technology is not just about machines but also about people. In my opinion as technology continues to develop further on we need to make it a point to use it always to serve and protect everyone equally.</p>]]></description>
