Spain is a country located in southwestern Europe. With nearly 48 million people currently in residence, Spain has one of the world's highest tourist rates, placing it at 2nd place for the most visited country in the world. Within Spain many languages are spoken and welcomed, the top three as Spanish, Catalan, and English but ranging as far as too Galician, and even Romanian. Spain has a very long history as it was first founded in 1492 and is considered one of the earliest modern states in renaissance Europe. The Spain flag is featured in red and yellow stripes, with the coat of arms off centered towards the right.

A recent event that has taken place in Spain is the men's soccer team winning gold in the Olympics. This was a huge accomplishment for the team, especially because they haven't won a gold medal since the 1992 Olympics that took place in Barcelona. The final this year was an epic performance between France and Spain rebounding back and forth many times before concluding in Spains triumph. The coach Luis De Le Fuente was able to push Spain to this victory and was a huge contributor to the win.

Spain has many different traditions and such a rich and entrancing culture. One of the many unique traditions that take place in Spain is the La Tomatina. On this holiday participants go into the streets and throw tomatoes. This yearly tradition started by a few teenagers getting into a food fight back in 1940 and has continued ever since. This is only one of many different unique holidays throughout the country. Some of the more well-known holidays celebrated include Carnival, and finally Semana Santa, the most popular holiday which takes place the whole week prior to easter, and is full of easter processions, religious devotions and a huge sense of community throughout.

Spain is a very popular tourist spot as placed at 2nd place for the worlds most visited country in the world. The number of activities is extensive, and the architecture is one of its main attractions. The most popular attraction of Spain by far, known as the largest unfinished church in the world, with nearly three million visits per year is the Sagrada Familia. Construction on this giant church has been going on for 150 years and it is named one of the most beautiful architectures to be seen in the world. If I were to ever visit Spain this would be a must see.

Spain is known for its incredible food choices, and making the most of the local produce. Food in Spain is typically very bold with heavy garlic, olive oil, paprika, and saffron. Spain's most well-known dish is named paella, paella is a combination of saffron flavored rice, and a mix of meats, seafood, and vegetables. This dish is originally from Spain's Mediterranean coast and is especially associated with the region of Valencia. Many people travel from around the world especially for the incredible food located in Spain.

Spain is known as the most successful European national soccer team in the 21st century, and any souvenir shop in the country will show of soccer jerseys with the most popular players at the time.

Overall Spain is an immersive and beautiful country filled with rich culture and gorgeous nature. Out of everything throughout the country the most jaw dropping thing in my opinion is the architecture. This is what I feel really makes the country and the feel of the community how it is today. Many of the classic buildings with the gothic style can be traced back to the 12th century. The beauty of the ancient style is captivating and hardly even seems real, the designers and architects are truly one of a kind and their work will be cherished forever.
