Create a sense of urgency&nbsp;<br>- communicate to residents the deadline which URA will take over the plot of land<br>-flats are really old and lack the facilities and infrastructure to cater to the elderly<br>- Focus groups/ surveys through volunteers residents to gather residents' concerns<br><br><br>2. Create a guiding coalition&nbsp;<br>- befrienders<br>- Residents themselves ( positive)<br>-Grassroots volunteers<br>- Children of the residents<br>-Residents ( negative)<br><br>3. Develop a change vision<br>-Identify what is important to the residents in their new community<br>- New community in new estate<br>- Emphasize on safety and convenience and community infrastructure<br>- a Tag line which residents can relate to.<br><br>&nbsp;4. Communicate the vision&nbsp;<br>- That they will be getting a brand new home with newer facilities catered to the elderly<br>- Volunteers can have door to door visits to explain<br>- Addressing the concerns of residents and linking it back to the vision.&nbsp;<br><br>5. Remove the obstacles&nbsp;<br>- volunteers to help with packing/moving<br>- cheap quotation through bulk request by moving companies<br>- Bulky items removal through town council<br><br>6. Create short term wins&nbsp;<br>- free welcome gifts to community<br>- free mahjong sets<br>- community get together sessions.&nbsp; Mahjong sessions/karaoke<br><br>7. Drive the Urgency&nbsp;<br>Timeline- not stated- resident not able to decide but decided by the government&nbsp;<br>Opportunities - replacement housing&nbsp;<br>Sell the idea of old house unsafe living conditions, upgrading to a safer environment&nbsp;<br>Elderly assistance - safety feature in the house(Fall incident)&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Government paying the house owners to move from the old flat<br>Decision to move to a new location (Upgrade) stay with the same group increase familiarity&nbsp;<br><br>2. Guiding coalition&nbsp;<br>Resident committee to help sell the idea through focus dialogue - sell the idea to a better and better integration (Medical care, newer housing facilities&nbsp;<br>Leverage on supporting owners to buy-in the idea<br><br><br>3. Develop a change vision&nbsp;<br>Adhere to Government initiatives.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Elderly assistance safety, medical access facilities , other supporting community, transportation hub, amenities (Market, hawker centres) Community area, to gather play mahjong,&nbsp;<br><br><br>4. Create a sense of urgency<br>Safety concerns in the old buildings , lighting poor e.t.c.<br>And lack of elderly facilities (grab bar, anti slip floor)<br><br>2. Create a guiding coalition<br>Identify the keen ones to be part of coalition, the more influential (like the mahjong head as the influencer to motivate them to move)<br><br>3. Develop a change vision<br>(all happy together, Hokkien)<br><br>Picture scenario of&nbsp; more safety features, safe, cleaner, vibrant, nice environment (got young people to help them carry things), near amenities, better facilities, lesser maintenances issues to worry about&nbsp;<br><br>More senior activities in the new place<br><br><br>4. Communicate the vision<br>HDB contact officer with various members (grassroot leaders, RC members, volunteers,&nbsp; to regularly talk to them about the good things of changing.<br><br>Shuttle bus to bring them to see the new estates. With lunches provided.&nbsp;<br><br>5. Remove the obstacles<br>1. Take care of financial issues, such as free movers.&nbsp;<br>2. More subsidies for the flats.&nbsp;<br>3. Furniture allowances&nbsp;<br>4. Priorities to choose units&nbsp;<br>5. Relocation could be to places near the children homes (for those with families).&nbsp;<br><br>6. Create short term wins<br>1. Arrange more shuttle bus to bring them to see the new estates. With lunches &amp; dinner provided.&nbsp;<br>2. More incentives for those opted in early. Early bird unit discounts. &nbsp;<br>3. Video of those who have moved, share success story and their happy life in the new place &nbsp;<br><br><br>7. Build on the change&nbsp;<br>1. What went right?<br>2. Set goals for momentum?<br>3.
