In this story, Louis has to learn how to control the thoughts that want to explode out of his mouth at all of the wrong times. This story follows his journey in learning  the value of  respecting others by not interrupting, saying inappropriate. 

Activity: Students will work in partners to brainstorm five times throughout the week that their mouth "was a volcano" and reflect on how that made for a tough situation.

Bella has a very important responsibility. One that all children must have. She is to protect the flower that grows within her, and not let anyone pick it. Every body deserves to be respected, loved, and should be able to freely grow to their highest potential.

Activity: Students will be given five sticky notes. Each student needs to write five kind, respectful things to five people they wouldn't normally pair themselves with and share them with each other.

Chloe and her friends have no respect for Maya, the new girl at school. The girls continue to deny her when she asks to play with them, and they wonder where she goes when she suddenly stops coming to school.

Activity: Students are going to build a "buddy bench" outside. Students will paint and all sign the bench agreeing that if someone is ever sitting on the bench, it means they need a friend to play with at recess, and people will acknowledge and join that person at recess.

This book promotes respect and kindness to all age groups. It encourages students to be kind and "fill" peoples buckets with kind words and actions everyday.

Activity: Bucket Filling Challenge -
Students will need to "fill" every person in the classrooms "bucket" by the end of the week. We will reflect as a whole group on what it felt like when someone filled our bucket, and how that changed our day.
