Some of these subcategories I had heard of, but there were a few I was unaware of. I also had some preconceived ideas about a few of these topics, so it was eye-opening in many ways. This tool will be of great importance for me as I start my new profession-a quick reference for each illness and helpful resources.

It is of extreme importance to be aware of any cultural differences for each patient. As counselors, we must become familiar with our patient's culture to ensure we are not asking them to do anything that is considered disrespectful in nature or that goes against their cultural beliefs. We also need to be aware of these differences so that we do not do something that disrespects their cutlure.
