What experiences do you share with the characters?
An experience I can share with a charcter is him moving, which I had experieced before moving place from place is not a well experiment.
In what ways is your family similar or different from those in the book?
They are quite different as my family is not as big. So thenfore I did have not much structural guidance as the character James could've had.
What did you learn about a character or group of people that you have not personally experienced?
What I learned is that Jews also have arranged marraiges as many others in parts of the world

A Race/Ethnicity social issue thats always present is when James sees his mother ignore all type of insults. He describes it as her mother is always unbothered by any thrown at her from either a white or black person. This shows how the family would be facinng critism and racism for the both races being a family as at that time it would be heavily criticized by the whites and black.

What was the work’s original intended audience? To what extent are you similar or different from that audience?
The work’s original intended audience were too those who grew up with a big family and a mother from a different race. To an extent this is similiar to this audience as I too have a pretty big family just as the intended audience.

Becasue you can see from her point of view how she had all these kids yet she couldnt do the cleaning around the house showing howing she battled with her kids.

In what ways is your family similar or different from those in the book?
-My family is different as I never grew up with lots of siblings so I didnt get a much less living.

-In the beginning of chapter 15 we learn that James Mother Ruth had an abortion in her younger days. The purpose would be to show she started battling with problem in her younger days.

-Ruth here is saying good bye to her love in her younger days. This is significant as this was one of her few losses in her younger days she suffered as she showed great gratitude towards this loss in love life.

- Religion was present when Ruth graduated. And she was in the graduation march which then led towards a church she decided not to go in the church as she thought that would have been direspectful towards her parents and religion.

What ideological values are explicit or implicit?
- A value can be that Jews can't enter no other religion related building. As towards the end of chapter 15 we see how Ruthh decided not to enter the church building when she was graduating, showing that she still got her Jew roots in her. This shows how Ruth's ideological values are implicit.

-My family is diiferent as its never has experienced a family member leave us like Ruth left her family.

Why did this quote stand out to you?
-This stood out to me as here Ruth has an opputunity to get to stay and get closer with her sister but no, instead she breaks her promise to stay and leaves with her man instead.

What forces are motivating the characters?

-Her parents at first were motivating her until she had her own kids her children have became her biggest forces that are motivating her.

What did you learn about yourself or the world through this memoir?
- What I have learned about the world through this very inspiring and educational book is that not all people are the same. That there really millions of different kinds of humans and with that comes very different backgrounds. That background then tends to be very different as we are not all the same. With that we wan't judge no one no matter the race or act of the person. Showing how James grew was no way to judge someone with someone grew up with a different coloreed race mother.
