The Aqueducts for the Mayan civilization was a way to transport water from other places to flow through their civilizations. To make their land more livable the Mayan at Palenque routed streams beneath plazas via aqueducts.

Suspension Bridges

Suspension bridges were required to carry these routes over rapid torrents. They were an important achievement in the Inca civilization. Bridges of this type were useful since the Inca people did not use wheeled transport

The arrival of Hernán Cortés

Cortés's army surrounded Tenochtitlán for 93 days, and a combination of better weapons and a smallpox outbreak enabled the Spanish to conquer the city. Cortés's victory destroyed the Aztec empire, and the Spanish began to consolidate control over what became the colony of New Spain.
