They were usually small with 1 room for all the family. The houses were made of stone and adobe. The Inda people also built storehouses which goods were kept in. The storehouses had food, weapons, and medicine and were regularly checked.

It was never captured and survived many battles because of its location. It was made of all stone and adobe and it was hard for Spanish to enter. Located in the Andes Mountains in present day Peru it was near the capital called Cusco. Machu Picchu means big mountain!

Boats were made using bundles of reed called balsas which translates to bags in Spanish. People raised animals for meat and other supplies and also hunted wildlife such as the peccary, deer, rabbits, and other small animal. They were hunted using bows and arrows. They fished for anything and used nets, harpoons, and fishhooks to catch fish.
