I want to have the info so I am doing it right from the start. As far as training I want to know exactly what is wanted as far as what to include in the notes and how often it is to be done. The more specific the better. I think this will help with validity. What we want to know is what our anecdotal notes need to look like, have and how to best give it. 
A couple of us our confused on BRI's, but some of us think that at a third grade level, it does not have enough material to really allow us to know students' abilities. Has more of a pass/fail feel to it. 
We would love to have a document where we are able to see what skills, strategies are needed at a third grade level. We do have some (very few) students that leave us ready to read, but I don't know that a training on running records and rigby is what we need to focus on.
