In the Wild Light features a male main character, Cash, that doesn’t feel he deserves good things in life because of his family. His best friend, Delaney, who also comes from a poor, drug addicted family, happens to be a genius that gets offered a full scholarship to a fancy boarding school. She doesn’t want to go without him, so she convinces the school to give him a scholarship as well.
