-        Nobody can hide from the Circle. The possibility of leaving and choosing 
  another life is no longer available.

 

-        Total surveillance enables the Circle to exercise high levels of control over society and governments. 

 
-        Transparent governments cannot exercise control over the Circle. Politicians fear that they will be ruined after they have spoken out. 

-        The convergence of the private and public sector is a threat. The Circle will gain more power.  

-        More surveillance and transparency might lead to a totalitarian society.

 

-        Surveillance and full transparency will create a desire to put the law in one’s own hands. (‘mob rule’).
 

- Access to information should be free to all people.

- Free access to information leads to more equality in society because knowledge can be acquired free of charge.

- Crimes can be prevented (TruYouth) because children can be tracked. 

- Giving up privacy and becoming transparent for the greater good saves lives.

- A person can escape surveillance if that person chooses a life as a hermit.

- Governments have mechanisms in place that would prevent the Circle to have all data about a person.
