Stephon Clark, Sacramento native, was gunned down in his grandmother's backyard by police who were investigating a vandalism complaint. Apparently, the offending officers mistook a Clark's cellphone for a gun. Stephon Clark, while not deserving to die the way he did, was the epitome of a self hating black man who married someone who was a colorist and was one himself. I know that we shouldn't speak ill of the dead since they aren't here to defend themselves, but being dead doesn't automatically turn you into some sort of martyr for the cause. He hated black women especially dark skin black women. He denied his own children's black identity in favor of their asian side calling them 'Vietnamese and Indian.' His own girlfriend was upset that, after procreating with a dark skin black man willingly, that her own children were closer to him in color than herself. Stephon Clark's case is not worthy of the media attention that it is receiving. This country was built off the backs of Black slaves. We weren't brought here to prosper and succeed and win. We were brought here as free labor. When we finally attained our freedom, this country needed another means of workers of whom you can treat like less than human. So what's the loophole of the thirteenth amendment? Slavery and involuntary servitude is abolished except if it is punishment for a crime. The people of this country won't even consider more restrictions placed on the second amendment. You really think they''ll do something about the thirteenth? This country would collapse without black labor. They're not getting rid of it any time soon. Especially not with the known racist we have in office who wants to 'make a America great again(when was that?)? The only possible way for a solution to mass incarceration is to eradicate the thirteenth amendment which can only be done by making a new amendment that basically states that slavery work of any kind is forbidden. Only then will we not have such an overcrowding of our prisons because there's basically no point to placing innocent people in jail if they aren't doing anything to make this country richer. So, unless that happens, it looks like hoarding minorities in prison like animals at a zoo is here to stay. I know.
