Within a cherry, it is sometimes sweet, but also sour. Johnny is a quiet and timid character who likes to keep to himself and does not cause as much trouble as the rest of the greasers. He is loved by every gang member and is seen as the "pet". We can tell that he's a deep thinker by his last words to Ponyboy; "Stay gold", meaning that he wants him to stay innocent, and keep watching sunsets. We can see how different personalities deal with different traumas. For example, Dally gave up on humanity and hardened himself while Johnny became more timid. We can also tell that Johnny dearly cares about his friends and is a selfless individual when he killed Bob when he was drowning Ponyboy or when he pushed Ponyboy out of the burning church. Even on his last note to Ponyboy, he wrote mostly about Ponyboy and Dally.
I think that Johnny is a lot like a timid puppy because he's loyal, selfless, and won't hesitate to bite back for the sake of his friends. As Darry's and Ponyboy's parents does, Darry took the responsibility of raising Ponyboy. This responsibility prevented him from doing any real work.

I chose this picture because Darry is the odd one out in the group; he is strict.

He has a lot of history that people may not know about and before his death, he was a quiet person who didn't open up. He is a pure, innocent kid, even if he suffered abuse, he was like the little puppy of their gang. Even if he smoked and drank alcohol, he still had a sense of innocence. Just like a tiny baby sea lion when it is new to its environment. However, Johnny also has his sense of protection and an aggressive side when he wants to protect his loved ones. When he stabbed Bob it represents how a baby sea lion learns to hunt. When a baby sea lion grows up, they realise not to be scared. Just like when Johnny was running away, he realised he couldn't and shouldn't hide from the authorities anymore. A baby sea lion represents his past and future self. Johnny is as innocent as a baby sea lion and as Johnny learns from that traumatic experience, he learns to finally accept and not hide. It is said that Cherry normally wears a necklace, which represents rich, and that she sits in the upper class (Socs). This means the necklace is symbolic of her.
Though, she might be your average Soc, like her boyfriend, Bob. She can be humble and nice to others. An example is when Cherry kindly interacted with Ponyboy who is a Greaser.
Overall, she can be vile if she needs to, but she's known to be a kind and humble person.
