So my lecturer is Madam Nurul Fitriah, she is cute, still young, just like sister, and she is pregnant, very strong person. So what I know is, she is our alumni, from TESL course. So one the first class, she explain a little bit about what our class will go through for this semester with her subject. She explain to us course info and tell us what assignment that will be assign to us. 

So we got assignment e-portfolio like reflective writing that contain reflective about 12 week. We also got to find group of 4 to make a group for course design which is to make a program or event and also pair microteaching.  After that madam continue with the introduction of curriculum and instruction.

So in this class what I learn today is PAK 21 activity, which is the activity that is student center. Which mean while we teaching, we must let the student do the activity and the work by themselves but we as teacher monitoring and help them if they need help. This all activity very good to make the student to break their shell in education to do best performance that coming from them.

We also learn in the class what is PDPC, and document-document in the curriculum. We also learn what the different between 21 century activity and teaching style with the traditional method. The big different is traditional method more like teacher learning center and the 21 century is more like student center.

From what I know, curriculum development generally got three stage which is planning, implementation, and evaluation. After that we proceed with to 4 model of curriculum instruction and there is 4 model that we learn that day, I will only choose one that us Ralph Tyler (1950) that is got 4 stage which is, objective, content, method, evaluation.

After that we proceed to learn how to create lesson plan. Madam Fitriah teach us to make lesson plan from the very beginning for what we can do and we cannot do. We learn so much that day as preparation before we start to do microteaching presentation later on.

What I learn today is about Taba model. Let me explain littlebit about Taba, his name is Hilda Taba and it sound like Mobile Legend character name Hilda. She is the student of John Dewey. She wrote book of curriculum development name theory and practice 1962. And the book also known as ‘grass-roots approach.

The taba model got 7 step, name 7 step of taba. The first step is diagnose the need, follow by selection of objective, selection of content, organization of content, selection of learning experience, organization of learning experience and lastly determine what to evaluate and how to evaluate. After that madam fitriah ask the student to stay in group and discuss about their course design work in group guide by Madam. That all for today.

The day start normally, and what we learn that day is about curriculum evaluation topic. We have learn about what is assessment that is the process of gathering data. And we also learn what evaluation that is once data gather, there is one judgement to determine the overall value of an outcome. We also know about what is curriculum evaluation that is making judgement about the desirability of certain change in student and using info to change teaching and curriculum.

So we get to know why the evaluation is important and there is two type of evaluation. First type formative assessment that is ongoing assessment that to know where the student at that time. The second is summative assessment that is done in complexion of program. After that we continue to learn about CIPP model. That all I want to share about this day.

The topic of this day is education system in Malaysia. So the education in Malaysia is centralized that is all the same all around our country under this system. The system is top to down men from the very high positon and going down for the power. The system is overseen by Minister of education that is hold all the power or decision making. Lies with group or individual from the top.

Why centralized? Centralized can help control cost, quality, efficiency, information and overall operation. The Minister of Education have complete power over all source, money, information, people and technology.

So the topic of that day is instructional objectives. Madam Fitriah lecture about instructional objectives which is has three element. The element is knowledge skill and attitude. The purpose of instructional objectives to defining the intent of educational plan. Then, teacher, administrator and society to answer the product of the system. To give an objective must be measurable. The objective also must be observable. 
      There are two major format which is Mager's format of instructional objective and Grondlund instructional objectives.  Two format is usually explain clearly the objective that need to give to the product. So we learn how to make a statement of an objective with clearly and specific that can make sure the objective will be achieve.

What we learn today is we go more detail about 21 century learning. 21 century different with the 20 century method. The 21 century learning more focus on student center and 20 center that is teacher center. What is mean by teacher center is only the teacher teach at front while the student only sit and hearing or write what the teacher said. What is student center is generally more on student to do activity and to think about what they learn that day as teacher guide them.   

For more detail, 21 century learning consist of collaboration of many skills that need to develop. For instance, creativity and innovation, collaboration and communication, problem solving and critical thinking, technology adaptability, digital awareness, and researching and processing information. To develop all this skills it must be guide and need facilitate from teacher. All this thing move as the development from all site in the world and we also develop all thing including the teaching and learning skill must be develop.

I did not come due to the school visit from other subject that the school teacher set this date for the visit, but no problem I already tell Madam Fitriah about this and madam approve about this. So that not much I know from madam and then I got to learn from my friend. Madam also put the picture inside the WhatsApp group for what the class have learn during my group did not attend to the class. They learn about ADDIE model and ASSURE model.

So we make this simple, ADDIE is stand for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. There is still many more to explain but we just make it short about just know what the alphabet stand for. Same goes to the ASSURE model that is stand for A is analyzed learner, S is state objective, S is select media and material , U is utilize media and material, R is require learner participation and lastly is E that is evaluate and revised. So what we do for today is show the lesson plan to the madam. My group with Nazirul already prepare for the lesson plan. While we waiting the other group ask madam how about their lesson plan. I take the opportunity to repair and recheck before our pair show the lesson plan to the madam Fitriah.

So there is our turn to show, overall is good, but madam advice our pair to change the activity in our lesson plan because it was not very suitable madam said. Madam also correct all the small mistake and after that we do correction in the class that day about our lesson plan. That is because the next week is the day that is pair presentation day and our group at the turn no 9 and we very serious to score in this presentation. Our class will start for microteaching. So for the first 6 pair will teach and the rest will continue for next week. So for that, my pair need to present next week. So I just enjoyed and learn for what my friend present for today.
       For the first pair is Amira and Farah teaching about creative movement. Overall comment is good but need for improvement is to put history and the benefit when do the creative movement. Then, we proceed to izzaty and Sofea that teach about poem. The comment is they are well in convey the information and good voice projection and more confident which is make the teaching and learning in smooth way. Next, Fatihah and Izzati teaching about Bernoulli Principle which is physic. The activity is interesting, and facial expression for Izzati must be improved.
            We proceed to Fatiha dan Umi. They are good combination between them, have a PowToon and all students participate in their lesson. Next, Nazmi and Hamdan teach about bully. They do it well but Nazmi have no intonation when speak and the activity also is very good and interesting. Last pair, Wali and Yassir teach about Biology. The comment is the flow is slow, more on teaching rather integrate the student and for improvement just focus on the activity more than teaching. This pair is more on teacher center style which is old-school. That all from me for this week.

Today I will only reflect my group pair presentation. Our pair is the third pair will present that day, even we prepare well that day but it was very hard for me to keep focus. The first pair is Haikal and Ikhwan that teach us mathematic subject that is the meaning and how to find the mean, mode, median in mathematic. Second pair is Harold and syahmi on motivation and my pair that is me and Nazirul is about food intake. 

From what madam evaluate us, our group is very expectable e don’t use the computer or PowerPoint, we get to present well in the class. Madam very excited with Nazirul even he is less talking in class, always absent, lonely like heartbreaking person that break in love, that all is nothing as he present very well in the microteaching for his microteaching.  Madam praise Nazirul on how he use the student to fill in the food pyramid on the whiteboard. And same goes to me, Madam say Azim got no problem with the presentation and it was a good presentation even I did not know what the actual mark is. 

At the end of the class, we take picture as memories and I becoming photographer that day and no memories for me. Thank you madam, hope you will be fine and be success all the way to the future. THANK YOU MADAM FITRIAH.
