He stays back and tries to repair a clock, but they are drowsy and fall asleep. In their dream it shows all the things he has been missing out on with his family or times he said he was too busy, there are cut ins of clocks and time. An alarm goes off and he goes home to be with his family.
 
2.     A young man needs a car to start a job but they have no money. An elderly man gives them a run down old car as a gift they start building the car together. They get it going and the young man helps the elderly man get around in exchange for his kind deed. (A simpler version of this could be an old man gifts a toolbox to a young person whos car has broken down).
 
3.     Mark offers his grandma's ring up in marriage to his long-term partner, every time she puts it on it re-appears on the hand of another girl. 
 
4.     Someone is gifted a lottery ticket, they win and become addicted to gambling blowing their life savings, they try and win them back but end up losing their home.
 
5.     Someone gives their partner a gift, the person opens it but the gift is not what was supposed to be in the box.. instead it is a (something offensive like a framed photo of someone else.. or something more sinister) they have to understand how it got there to get back on their partners good side.
 
6.     A person receives a gift, they open it and it is a collection of photos that appear to be stalking them. The protagonist thinks it’s a prank. A second gift arrives, the photos are even more recent, the third time the gift appears in the room, they open it and the photos are of them looking at the photos just moments ago. They look up and someone is standing in front of them with a camera, the flash goes off and the room is empty except for a photo that falls to the ground.
 
7.     A clock repair person receives a broken clock, they turn the clock hands and the time changes to night, they turn it the other way and it changes to day, they accidentally drop the clock and it breaks, they appear in a timeless void white space (would need a green screen), they realise they must repair it to go back to normal time, they fix the clock ---probably too hard to film.

 
8.     A burglar breaks into a house, it is completely empty. Eventually they stumble across a gift-wrapped present placed in the centre of a room. They open it, it contains a photo of them looking at the box. they look up, the doors are now covered in wrapping paper, they look down, their feet and legs are being wrapped by wrapping paper, they begin to feel a pain in their check, they cough up a ribbon, they keep pulling the very long ribbon out of their mouth until it pulls out a photo of them with smiling with their mum. They look at the photo and everything around them is back to normal but they are left holding the photo.. they look up at themselves in a mirror (they look sad and haggard) They then leave the house. Maybe they phone their mum, say I love you and I’m coming over to see you.

1. It focuses on one character. 

2. It contains a clear disturbing force that generates a clear goal. (The present is trying to trap them andthe antagonist needs to escape the situation).

3. showing the burglar breaking into the house will be easy to film in a traditional Hollywood manner.

4. It will be easy enough to use non classical methods to show the present trying to trap them.

Character - Burglar


Act 1

First scene

Location - Outside a house.

A burglar is walking up to a house

They are looking around to make sure no one is watching

They try and find a way to break into the house

Second scene

Location - Inside a house

They manage to get in

They start looking around the house for something to steal but all the rooms are empty

Act 2

Location – lounge room

(Turning point ) They walk into one room, it is almost empty with the exception of a gift placed in the centre of the room.

They begin to open the gift

They open the gift, all it contains is a photo of them holding the gift in that moment.

We see a scared look on their face

They look up and the doors are covered in wrapping paper

They try and escape but they can’t move because their feet are being wrapped up by wrapping paper. (could use stop motion)

they are visibly very uncomfortable in their chest.

They start to cough up a very long ribbon that seems like it just keeps going.

2 options here

Option 1 - Eventually after pulling out a huge length of ribbon it comes to an end, there is a little toy attached. They look at the toy shocked.

We hear talking (a flash back off this gift being given to the a child)

Option 2 - Eventually after pulling out a huge length of ribbon it comes to an end, there is a a photo of the burglars mum.

Act 3

The burglar holds the item

They look up

All the wrapping paper and the gift box have disappeared

They walk out the house

They phone their mum and let her know that they are coming to visit

The end
