Description:
John Muir founded the sierra club, he was a naturalist and conservationist also an environmental activist. John Muir founded The Sierra Club because he wanted to ensure the environment was not being degraded by humans. As civilization grew, the demands for natural resources and food grew significantly, and to meet those needs that meant more harm to the environment. So he founded the Sierra Club.
Relation to Theme:
John Muir relates to the theme of "Pollution" because he contributed in preventing and reducing pollution into the environment. Whether it was physical pollution, like trash or air pollution.

It is an environmental organization, contributed to the passing of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. This club allowed for the government to take action into the pollution being thrown out in the environment.
Relation to Theme:
This relates to the theme of "pollution" because the club helped pass many acts that helped the environment by limiting corporations and large businesses from further contributing to the air pollution. The Sierra Club also protects human and animals health, caused by the pollution in the air or environment.

Made to protect the wildlife and preserve natural resources and not degrade the earth by thinking selfishly. This federation helps the people understand that they are potentially harming other organisms and should really think about the consequences of their actions.
Relation to Theme:
This relates to the theme of "pollution" because when one pollutes, it harms the wildlife surrounding the area. These actions cause the animals to eat harmful substances or solids, it would ruin their habitats if important species die off.

The fog mixed with the burning of fossil fuels, it turned yellow and it would not move, because there was no wind to carry it away. This caused the air to be toxic to breathe in so many had to cover their faces until it dispersed.
Relation to Theme:
This relates to the theme "pollution", because the air was intoxicated due to the pollution in the air accumulated by power plants. Pollution is a serious case that causes many disruptions in the environment. It causes an imbalance of certain substances and particles in the air.

Overall the chronological events depict the importance of taking care of the earth. We take so much out of Mother Earth that we don't even do anything to give back. The least we can do is reduce the amount of pollution that we throw into, essentially, our home. Also to think, once all the resources are used up, it will take a long time for Mother Nature to replace all the resources we use up today.
