In less than a decade, Topshop became an independent retailer, taking over the entire 90, 000 square foot space of the department store, in Oxford Circus, becoming the iconic flagship store, which now attracts over 200, 000 shoppers each week. Its popularity has stemmed naturally from its up-to-date affordable fashion, which has consequently made it the number one high street shop for ‘style conscious’ shoppers. In September 2005, Topshop became the first high street retailer to present its own in-house design collection during London Fashion Week.
 
With Topshop Denim being the second largest department after their Jersey department, they include a stylised range of jean fits in all different shapes, colour ways and silhouettes all individually named; Jamie, Mom, Jonie, Hayden, Leigh, Orson, Lucas. This marketing ploy was a success for their range as it created a level of personality within the product which made it more successful with their customers and demographic, as well as making it an easier process for return customers to purchase their favourite jeans/denim wear.
