Billy weaver, the protagonist, looks for a cheap hotel nearby when he comes across the landlady's hotel, and sees a BED AND BREAKFAST notice. He decides to stay there without a second thought. While he fills in the guest book, he sees two familiar names and inquires the landlady about it. She lies that they live at the top floor, de facto they were dead. But it was too late for him to realize and she killed him. The story illustrates how foolish it could be to trust strangers no matter how kind they seem.

The story land lady starts off with a young man named billy that hopes to be a young business man. He traveled down to London hoping to find an inexpensive place to stay. He comes across a tiny building that has a big sign and two pets on the inside. Then comes a nice looking lady that offers him to stay, judging by the lady's nice smile and house he comes in. Once he's inside he puts his things up stairs and comes down for a cup of tea. The lady seamed too nice not to say no to tea so he sat next to her while she told him story's. As the talk more and more it started to get weird and that when he realized the tea is poisoned! Therefore, someone may look nice but you can't just base it off of looks.

this story is about a 17 year old boy who is coming into town to get a job and he needs a inexpensive place to stay. He finds a small little boarding house that is perfect and serves breakfast in bed. He checks in. There is a little old lady in her fifty's or so and she is extremely nice, the next morning the landlady brings him down to the kitchen and makes him some breakfast. After breakfast the man goes back you to his room. After a little while the land lady comes back and asks the man to go and sign the book that every one has to sign. So the sweet man goes down and signs the book. he read two other names on the book. he thought he new them from somewhere  but he could not put his finger on it. Those names where the names of two people who went missing. After he signed the book the landlady insisted on having tea. So the man had the tea. Right when he went to drink the tea. he smelt some thing weird, it smelled bitter. than it clicked the tea had been poisoned.

The land lady by Roald Dahl shows how you should not always put your trust in certain people no matter how nice they may seem. Billy Weaver is a 17 year old boy coming to a new town from London and he's looking for an inexpensive place to stay. At first he was going to stay at the Bell and Dragon but walking on his way there he stops upon a bed and breakfast. He makes up his mid to stay at the bed and breakfast hosted by this "sweet" old lady, a little too sweet. Billy gets settled in and later finds something off about the lady. He marks his name in a book that he see's familiar names of customers the lady has had in the past.
