         <description><![CDATA[<div>As a teacher, I find it hard to simplify the content to the level that most of my students (75%) can relate to, for example, slide 7, reading names of countries on a map make no sense if they do not have the basic knowledge of what a map is or shows, etc. Friends and neighbours are people whom they know and live near them. How to explain that they have "friends and neighbours" in other countries? Many of them have no idea or no friends from another country that we know of to explain to them in their terms. They may only know domestic helpers from other countries, but unless we know their helpers are from which ASEAN country, we can't relate to their levels. Even so, got to explain to them their "aunty" at home are what we meant by ASEAN friend or are they??</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Most activities are not within the level of most of my students. Teachers had to do the searching on internet and categorise them first.  Colouring - only one student in the class can possibly colour well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Apology for my frank opinions first.<br>How meaningful or functional are these activities to some (or most) of our students? Not many of them have friends. They are still learning about friendship and making friends in school. Not many of them have "friends" from other countries. We do not know who are the foreign students in school that they might have met in their past years. I assume foreigners could be a minority in our school?&nbsp;<br><br>Singapore being a multi-racial society, a lot of traditional costumes and food in other countries are also available in Singapore - so what's so different? Even in Singapore, most of them do not play some of the traditional games. What is the functional use of teaching them that people from other countries play these games? Teaching them about Singapore races and culture on Racial Harmony Day would be more relatable to them and meaningful.&nbsp;<br><br>No doubt that there are some students who will be able to learn from what is provided and can be very interested in it. All these depend on the profiles and interest of the students in the class. Is this a meaningful or functional lesson for all classes, all students? </div>]]></description>
