The most profound lesson I learned was that stereotypes towards anyone is harmful. Obviously, there was lots of prejudice and stereotyping during the Holocaust, but in the documentary, the vice principal gave examples. He talked about how HE often stereotyped people from the Northern part of America, as Northerners stereotypes Southerners. It was mentioned in the documentary that the town in Tennessee wasn’t very diverse, which caused some prejudice and stereotyping. So, the documentary taught me that prejudice and stereotyping is harmful, no matter who or what it’s aimed at.

Rather than trying to exterminate everything you aren't too fond of, you should instead try to make peace with it as to not drive yourself insane. With so much hate and anger, it can build up if you don’t let it out at some point, and sooner rather than later is a much better option. It could eventually lead to genocide if the hatred hasn’t dissolved.

A lesson that i learned from this is that when people come together, they can change the world. Even a town as small as whitwell Tennessee changed many peoples lives. They changed the world by having many people reflect on the holocaust, and because of this many peoples lives could be changed. This may be a bit over dramatic but they could of stopped people from killing, or starting, a genocide because it shows that many people were changed by the holocaust, and the people who were killed weren’t the only lives who changed.
