Do you personally agree with the values/thought process behind positivism? Why or why not?

To be honest, my first assumption of what positivism meant was the same as you where I was expecting something along the lines of optimism so learning that it more so revolves around the objective existence of truths was an interesting realization to have! I also found it pretty interesting to learn about the various "sub-categories" of positivism at least leading up to the most modern interpretation of it.

Question: If the meaning of the text is up to the readers interpretation does the text have any meaning on its own?

What are some people or countries most heavily impacted when thinking about post-colonialism?

A: Many parts of my identity are well-represented in the media, and I recognize this. However, I never felt like my gender or sexuality were represented or represented accurately in mainstream media. It can be really difficult to relate to certain media, so there are a lot of TV and movies that I simply have no interest in watching because I feel like I won't be able to relate to it (just depending on the context).

I also loved that you pointed out issues with tokenism and stereotyping of identities in the media. While those solutions may seem obvious, I was watching a video about representation in the media, and I learned that many actors who play roles that don't align with their real identities do it for safety reasons. For example, it may seem silly to have a straight actor playing a gay character, but this also prevents people from getting "outed" or publicly shamed. It is a complicated topic, but I definitely still agree with your solutions!
