For example, when the employer is planning to hire someone, given that candidate 1 is extremely academically inclined while candidate 2 does decent in their academics but has lots of experience in working or have the practical skills, it is more likely that the employer will choose candidate 2 as they have more skills which may come in handy and it also shows that candidate 2 is able to do more things than candidate 1 who has little to no experience. But with that being said, it does not mean that qualifications are not important, they still are but it is better to have a balance of skills (experience) & academics. Furthermore, during interviews you are judged based off of qualities that the employers are looking for such as being able to adapt quickly, responsible, flexibility in your schedule & most importantly, your punctuality. Most jobs don’t just accept everyone and anyone that would like to work in their company, some companies require their employees to  have work experience for 3-5 years as most employers would like to have an employees to not take a long time to adjust which is highly likely if it’s one’s first time getting a job which may be inconvenient.
