The theme topic of Humanity is present in Isabela's story because she and her family were in danger on the boat and had to take bad but helpful risks in order to not get caught and get sent back to Cuba. He kissed Isabel on the cheek, surprising her, and then stood and jumped into the ocean."
Character 2- The theme topic of Humanity is present in Josef's story because he had to risk his life and save his family in order to help them survive even though that meant that he had to die. In the text it states, "Josef wasn't about to let his mother and sister end up in one of those camps."

I know this happened because in the text it says"Josef wasn't about to let his mother and sister end up in one of those camps."
