The brain drain is directly connected with the situation of the country.
Specifically in Argentina occured between 1960 and 1975, started mostly because of the political instability, the corruption and the bad economy. The most important cause of the emigration was "La noche de los bastones largos".
They migrate to Venezuela and Brazil, later to Mexico and France.
Micaela Polimeni

A study by the United Nations (UN) shows that 4.6% of the population living in Argentina is foreign, that is, almost two million people.

According to UNESCO, immigrants are the people who choose to live "temporarily or permanently in a country of which they are not nationals".
Italians in Argentina

Italian immigration in Argentina refers to the largest and most important migratory movement historically received by the Argentine Republic. Some three million Italians arrived in the southern nation, essentially settled in the central regions of the Argentine territory. Argentina has the 2nd largest Italian community outside Italy in the world after Brazil. From the 1860s Italian migration to Argentina began, and data from the National Census of 1869 show that there were some 71,500 Italians in the country. Italian immigration began to be massive in the decade of 1870 and seems to have lasted until almost 1970. Immigrant contingents arrived from all regions of Italy, highlighting the north in the 19th century and the Italian south in the 20th century.

K In 1947 there was in Paraguay a civil war. It cause several changes in Argentinian population, especially in Buenos Aires. 30.000 civilians and soldiers migrated to bordering countries including Argentina.

Nowadays there are more than 550.000 Paraguayans living in our country. Here the discrimination is a big problem for Paraguayans because not all Argentinias can deal with inmigrants. A lot of them are criticized because some people say they are increasing what we call 'villas miseria'. Is this entirely true? No. The Paraguayan people left their country for political reasons and most of them couldn't get back because they were already settled and here they could find a job. Lots of them work at contruction industries and a smaller part work for shoe industries.

Buenos Aires is the city with more Paraguayans in the world after Asunción, the capital of Paraguay.
Delfina Fernández Compagno
Sources:
