After arriving at Richard Bland, I have somewhat experienced what college life feels like. The dorms, classes, and people on campus have all contributed to this experience as well since I've been here. Since moving in, I've been to multiple meetings, welcoming's, and more. Every person I have encountered has been really helpful and friendly. Living on my own and making my own decisions has helped me a bit with adulthood which is really going well for me. I can mentally feel myself growing from this and becoming the adult I would like to be. It's helping me to be more dependable rather than depending on my mother. I've learned the concept of saving and management which has played an tremendous roll. My struggles on the other hand would be not being able to work as much to make money. Being that I wok two days a week now, I receive lesser pay. that's where my money management and saving skills come in hand. Without it, I would probably be out spending on unnecessary foods and clothing. Each of my classes are easy and I actually like all of them. They're 50 minute classes which is convenient to me because I'm able to go back to my dorm, get some rest, eat, and continue to do my homework and study. Sometimes what I dislike about my classes is long lectures, only because it makes me sleepy. it's very hard for me to function during long lectures. I mean, who would want to sit that long anyway? The struggle to keep my eyes from closing has cost me some troubles at times but in the end, I conquer.

Last class, I learned that there an significant amount of resources that I am provided with on campus. Every day, I am able to use the library, clubs, and other guides to help me with my needs for class. There are different resources for each class provided on campus. All resources are different and at operate at certain hours of the day.Two resources that I do plan on using is LibGuides to help with my citations and of course Canvas so I can continue to be up-to-date with my grades and assignments. With every day work that needs to be completed, Canvas will always and have been my best friend. My dashboard keeps me up-to-date and ready to go for classes. Without it, I would probably be behind with all of my classes. Currently, I am not in need of any other sources. All of the sources that I am available with suites me well.

After completing the Color Code activity, I learned that I am organized, dependable, and take pride in things. My color code also showed me that I am compassionate and easy going. In class, I learned that myself and as well my other classmates share similar to different characteristics which helps us to interact with one another and learn from each other. Being that everyone is different, we all can help each other. One may not demonstrate a characteristic of another which is why it is useful and filling on how we interact together to get our jobs done in class and anywhere else. Knowing this information would help me and others better by knowing what each one of us can offer. Without these traits, we would probably be lost looking for help and guidance. In addition to this, an area of service I am passionate about would be volunteering at Walnut Hill Elementary. I have become close with the class I work with and each student has expressed their love and joy of me being there as an extra guide and helping hand. Our Ese class could do some good by volunteering to create an artwork or masterpiece for children in need. I believe that each person in our class is artistic in some way and being able to pull it out and just share your work with other kids who may be going through something would really be something worth smiling for. Children's hospitals as well as other organizations holds service projects as such and it's also a great way to give back.

My only goal as of now is to become a full-time counselor and to work with middle school students. To start this, I would probably be ready to take on this roll at the age of 25. I have already started by enrolling in college and taking on some classes that I will need in my field. Being able to guide teens or even others of all ages has been my main goal for a while now and by doing this, I'm showing others my passion for my job. By the year of 2023 or less, I hope to fulfill all the necessary degrees and knowledge I will need to start my career path in counseling and education. This is an important SMART goal for me because it's specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. I chose this goal because working with kids is something I have really became compassionate about and I believe a job in a counseling and education career would suite me well. Saying this, my life would be totally different if I reach this goal because it would be something else I could say I achieved in my life. My specific plan to reach this goal is just to simply work hard and continue to prosper.

Last class, I learned that building a resume, what to say and what not to say. I also learned that previous work from when you were in high school isn't relevant anymore when you're about 21 unless you are still working there. As for my S.M.A.R.T goals, it's still the same as my previous journal. "My only goal as of now is to become a full-time counselor and to work with middle school students. To start this, I would probably be ready to take on this roll at the age of 25. I have already mastered one experience by working with a kindergarten class, but my next achievement that I am working to reach now is doing a internship at an elementary school. This experience would help me even more by allowing me to do what I am doing now, but to attain more experience from more teachers. Being able to work at different schools will help me to work with different diverse students and help me to grow abundantly.

One resource that I have used this semester was the library. I chose to use the library because it was a convenient source for resources that I was seeking for. It is also a quiet place to get your work done. While using this resource, I was hoping to gain an sufficient amount of resources and evidence for an analysis paper, which I did and ended up receiving an excellent grade on that assignment. The library has so many up-to-date documents as well as very old documents in their database so it's very easy too find what you're searching for and what you need. If they happen not to have it at the time, they can refer you to other help and options which I believe is very useful. Next semester or whenever I need, I will more than likely return to the library for any of my work where I have to do some research or even studying.

Another resource that saved my life for this semester and next semester is my leaner mentor! If I would have never met my learner mentor, I wouldn't know some of the important things I need to know in the years I'll be in school, or the things that could ultimately help me. Meeting my mentor for the first time, I was really just hoping to select my classes for the next semester and go on about my day, but of course, we got to chatting, and I ended up learning more than I expected. She helped me by letting me know about some classes that could help me with my major, some schools that focused highly on my major, and just some key points that could help me all together as far as internships and more.Yes, my expectations were helped, but my leaner mentor provided me with EXTRA help and I couldn't appreciate her anymore than I do now. She made sure to touch basis with me and I can honestly tell that she cares about the students at RBC. I will always return to my learner mentor! I feel as if she's a part of my college life now.

An campus event that I actually attended today (5/1/18) was the pecan festival. Though, I didn't stay long, it was very fun and I enjoyed the ice cream sandwiches. I appreciated this mostly because RBC does a great job with trying to please the students and give us something to do. My two take-aways would be being able to enjoy this event and again (the ice cream :). ) I can't use these in every day life but I could use the thought of giving back in every day life. I do plan to attend another event life this to again, just to hang out on a warm spring day and enjoy some pecans! (and ice cream)

Another campus event that I attended was the Think Before You Drink event held in Freedom Hall. I appreciated the effort that was put into this event. People, especially young adults and students my age need to know of the dangers of drinking and driving and so much more. Two of my take-aways would be the information that was given and the activity we got to do. The information was so helpful and although I do not drink, I know that I need to be cautious of others. I plan to attend another event as such because it's always good to get information on things like this. The game that we played with the drunk google were also a way for students to see
