A hot air balloon is inflated partially with cold air from a gas-powered fan,

before the propane burners are used for final inflation.

The basket is commonly made of woven wicker, rattan or aluminium .

The burner works as a gas pedal for the ballon. It unites liquid propane mixed

with air, ignites the mixture and directs the flame into the mouth of the envelope.

In case of ignition problems the pilot has a backup ignition, ex: a flint spark lighter.

Fuel tanks are cylindrical pressure vessels that are made of aluminium, stainless steel

or titanium. In one end there is a valve to feed the burner and refuel it.
