Crowdsourcing: When you collect opinions, information or other content such as digital art or photos from many people across the internet to be used for crowd related data that needed to be studied or collected.

Citizenscience: Such as when you donate spare computer CPU to government or science related needs by having it run in the background and when many people do so it creates some kind of super computer made up of many weaker computers.

Another one was Zooniverse, because it is a website powered by the research of people, providing valuable information that would otherwise not be known by just anyone.

A Citizen science project that interests me is the Bird census as it seems very interesting and like something that everyone can participate in.

When people donate money to fund projects that may not gain much recognition, over time the little donations that have been made, can become bigger and can be used for something.

Essentially Crowdsourcing is a shared knowledge base that works by collecting information from users. This information can be easily stored, sorted, and monitored by a community of contributors to ensure that the information stored is high quality and reputable. This is done by manually checking or by utilizing computer programming.

A citizen science project that interested me was eBird where bird watchers would submit pictures of a certain type of bird in their area which then shows and creates a map of bird migration throughout the year.
