For the truth hurts and most human beings don’t want to hear the truth. And those that do are the ones who typically transform themselves and become better beings though at the potential expense of becoming an enemy to a close friend and even a loved one.
People will tell you that global warming is a grave threat, or failing to recycle will harm our society, or that pollution will impact our ecosystem or that governmental institutions and political machinations or lack of resources and the like will endanger the planet. But these are all, would-be do-gooder activities that make people feel like they’re making a difference and that they’re doing something when, in actuality, they don’t want to deal with the darkness inside of them.
