Naura, an 11th student of Riverside School who is very active on school activity, had a secret crush on Nathan, a quiet junior who kept to himself. Even though Nathan didn't stand out, there was something about him that Naura found captivating. Naura see him as something 'special' like she found a hidden gem.

Every day, she tried to find a way to seek an attention on him, hoping he'd notice her. But Nathan seemed more interested in hanging out with Airish, everyone thinking that they is on dating. Naura started doubting her feelings, especially when her friends teased her for liking a younger guy.

One day, Mick, Nathan's close friend, noticed Naura's feeling and decided to step in. "Hey, I see you’ve got a thing for Nathan," Mick said with a grin. "I can help you get closer to him." Feeling a bit desperate and confused, Naura agreed. Mick started coming up with ways for her and Nathan to spend more time together. But no matter what they did, Nathan seemed clueless and continued to spend most of his time with Airish.

Meanwhile, Mick found himself in a complicated spot. He had secretly liked Naura for a while but suddenly realize. "Why am I doing this?" Mick thought. But he knew that seeing Naura happy was more important to him.

After yet another failed attempt to get Nathan's attention, Mick sat down with Naura on a bench. "Mick, I think I need to stop forcing the situation, I'lll forget my feelings for him" Naura said while smiling awkwardly. "Maybe you should consider other options." He said. Naura laughed, "Other options? Are you serious?" She looked at Mick and noticed the sincerity in his eyes. Mick hesitated for a moment and then sighed. "I like you, Naura," he admitted. "But I knew you were into Nathan, so I thought I’d help however I could." Naura was stunned, she hadn’t seen that coming.

Before she could say anything, Nathan suddenly walked over. "Hey,what are you guys talking about?" he asked. Mick chuckled softly. "I was just telling Naura that I like her."

Nathan looked surprised but then turned to Naura. "But.. Naura, I'm so sorry if i late to realize your feelings for me, I think I like you too," he said quietly, confessing his feelings only after Mick’s confession.

Naura stared at both of them, feeling overwhelmed. "You guys... this is too much," she said honestly. "I can't choose between you two. I'm sorry, I need some time for myself" Nathan and Mick were both silent. They exchanged glances. Naura stood up and just walked away, she felt disappointed with the situation.

After that incident, Nathan always tried to approach her a few more times, regretting not realizing his feelings sooner. But Naura kept turning him down.

Mick, though disappointed, remained a good friend, supporting her decision. Naura knowing she had made the best choice for herself. She didn't need anyone to feel complete, she just need herself to live his life.

Natalia Angelina Ongko. XI-4/27

Cheese Rolling Festival: A Cultural Treasure or Just A Chaos?

The Cheese Rolling Festival, one of United Kingdom’s cultural traditions, is known as one of the most unique events in the world. In this festival, people race to chase a wheel of cheese rolling down a steep hill. Many people slip, fall, and even get injured. Some people say it’s a valuable tradition, while others think it’s just dangerous chaos.

In my opinion, the Cheese Rolling Festival is a cultural treasure. Why? Because this festival has a long history that began even hundreds of years ago. This tradition has also put a small village like Cooper’s Hill on the global map. Many people from different countries come not only to participate but also to watch the event, which helps boost the local economy. Also, this festival helps the local community maintain their identity and unity.

However, we can’t deny that the festival has its risks. Many participants get injured because of the 'dangerous' hill. But people who join it know the risks, and they still want to be part of it because it’s so exciting. As long as there are medical teams on standby, I think the risks shouldn’t be exaggerated.

So, even though it may look chaotic, this festival holds an important cultural value. We should appreciate traditions like this as long as efforts are made to ensure participants' safety. The Cheese Rolling Festival isn’t just chaos, it’s proof that traditions can stay alive in fun and unique ways.
