Hi :) I am 'Ezzatul Husna Abd Razak, an Accounting student in IIUM. InsyaAllah, this is my last semester and I will be graduating this June.

Case study is something that I am quite fond of lately, ever since I enrolled in Integrated Case Study  class. I learnt a lot from the class and I am excited to apply and also share the knowledge that I have gained.

Regarding my role, I prefer to be the Devil's Advocate, but not in a bad way of course :) I believe that this role is vital so the discussion can be further enhanced. Anyhow, the most important thing in a team is always teamwork and unity.

I hope our team will get to set our feet in Hong Kong and win this challenge. I believe nothing is impossible if we try our best!

My name is Malik, final year, final semester accounting student. Its truly a privilege to part of this amazing team.

I have always believed that the best way to learn is through experience. Being simulation of real life experience, case studies have, to a large extent, improved coherence of my thought process, analytical as well as strategic planning skills. As an "epistemophile", i have always enjoyed learning through case studies and I am of a view that these competitions are perfect platform to enhance our skills, represent our university well and uphold the respected reputation it has to the outsiders.

I have already took ICS last semester hence exposed to a number of cases and methods of solving. InshaAllah I hope I can be in a position to contribute in this incredible challenge.

Today was the first time I joined ICS class.  The case that was discussed regarding Sapphire Beach Hotel.  The class has almost completed analyzing the case. Somehow I still learnt a lot from the lecturer and fellow friends
.

First, the students shared what they have found in their further research of the Hotel from the Internet. 

Besides, they analyzed the case from two perspectives;  Quantitative and Qualitative.  Some groups calculated Leverage Ratio and Debt Coverage Ratio. However,  it is not strong enough to justify an argument from quantitative perspective, we have to consider the qualitative analysis that can add value to our decision.  The qualitative point of view includes government intervention and economic condition.

Lastly, we discussed about what are the required documents that a bank can ask for from a loan seeker or what are the things that a bank look for before they approve a loan (because the case is about whether the banker should approve loan to the owners of the hotel).  It includes:
- Credit history of the owners.
-Size of loan.
-Collateral.
-Character of owner can also influence the decision the banker for "smaller community bank" like in Malindi, Kenya.

First of all, Im glad that our team was brave enough and took the challenge to present the case study (Uniqlo) in the workshop. Feedbacks from the audience were seen as constructive opinions by our team.
Besides, I acknowledged my lacking.  First, I have to practise on how to not be so nervous. Secondly, from the view of the content, our findings/points were shallow, InsyaAllah I will practice more and as a team, we will put up more info on the slide and elaborate further during the presentation. Thirdly, I would like to improve on the hand / body gesture during presentation. And InsyaAllah with more trainings afterwards, we will do better and look for the areas that need improvement.
