Understory: Little sunlight reaches this area, so plants have to grow larger leaves to reach the sun. Many animals live here including leopards, red-eyed tree frogs, and jaguars. 

Forest Floor: it is very dark down here and as a result there is little to no vegetation. Plants that do grow down here decompose at much faster rates.
