A third speak Hausa, and traditional Fulanis speak Fulfude. The city is home to flat roofs in which some people sleep on when it gets hot, and rural areas are home to round houses made of mud and woven roofs. People there tend to wear baggy clothes, men wearing cotton pants and embroidered robes while women wear headdresses. Most there make a living as farmers or herders. Hasau farmers grow and eat crops and some sell the rest to villages. Yoruba makes up the largest ethnic group in western nigeria, and many are christian while some are Islam. Yorubas house many dialects within their culture due to many different Kingdoms in the past. About 1/5 of people in nigeria speak forms of Yoruba. Yorubas are known for their colorful cloth and beadwork. Yoruba kingswear robes covered in beads, in fact, most of the kings objects are beaded. The Yoruba create fancy masks for their kings, and statues for deceased ones. The Yoruba are known for their drums such as, the "dundun", and, the "talking drum". People of western nigeria work in factories, some work in offices, and others are even teachers, engineers, or doctors. The benver river forms the northern edge and the niger forms the western. Eastern Nigeria experiences more rainfall than other parts of nigeria. It's also home to swamps along its coast, wet lands, and large oil-deposits. In Eastern Nigeria, Igbo are the largest ethnic group. They live in villages ruled by a council of elders and each village speaks its own dialect. Many Igbos were slaughtered during a form of ethnic cleansing by the people of Nigeria in the past. They even tried to create their own country but authorities intervened and a bloody war broke out, killing many. In cities, people build houses with mud bricks and metal roofs to protect them from rain. In swampy areas, People build their houses on stilts to escape floods and water damage. The people of western nigeria wear colorful clothes. Women wrap a cloth around their lower body and a cloth around their head. Men wear one cloth and a "cap". The people of Igbo culture create masks for rituals, ceremonies, and festivals, as well as have masked dancers. Eastern Nigeria used to be primarily farming but now its OIL. Most of nigeria's wealth comes from selling oil to other countries. Other oil industries often take control and advantage of the process, and so nigeria does not benefit as much as it could.
