Richard Sagor (1992) stated, “By turning to collaborative action research, however, we can renew our commitment to thoughtful teaching and also begin developing an active community of professionals” (p. 10).

Mills (2014) states, “Action research is intimate because there is little distance between teacher researchers and their subjects, the students in their classrooms and schools” (p. 31).
