After an evening doing vodka shots, Peppa and Suzie decided to go out and buy cocaine.  Suzie knew that, as well as being very drunk, Peppa had no driving licence or car insurance, but, nevertheless, got into the passenger seat and allowed Peppa to drive.   They bought the illegal drugs together and Suzie puts them into her jacket pocket to keep them safe.  

On the way home, Peppa ran over George, who had dashed out into the road for a dare.  Although George’s actions were dangerous, a reasonably competent driver would have been able to see and avoid him on the empty road.  

Instead of stopping, Peppa drove off at high speed and crashed into a lamppost, seriously injuring Suzie.
