Carlos has 8 gardens because we can convert 6.4 & 0.8 into 64 tenths and 8 tenths and we know that 8 * 8 is 64 so then we convert 64 tenths & 8 tenths into 6.4 & 0.8 again.

6.4 divided by 0.8 = 8 because if you convert 6.4 into 64 and you can convert 0.8 into 8 64 divided by 8 = 8 and a way to check it is 8x8 and that = 64. their are eight gardens.
