Though he was an affair child of Osiris and Nephthys he ruled the underworld. Though he ruled the underworld he also gave that power on to Osiris, his father. Anubis ruling of the underworld was getting the dead souls and receive them to judgement. As in the photo you see him with heart and a feather.
