         <description><![CDATA[<p><b>Similar Figures-</b> Figures that have the same shape but not necessarily the same size; their sides are proportional, while their corresponding angles are equal.</p><p><b>Congruent Figures</b>- Two figures that have exactly the same shape and size. The corresponding sides and angles are congruent (exact same).</p><p><b>Corresponding Sides</b>- a pair of sides from similar or congruent figures that are in the same position (matching position).</p><p><b>Corresponding Angles</b>- a pair of angles from similar or congruent figures that are in the same position and are the same measure. </p><p><b>Translation- </b>A shift of a graph horizontally, vertically, or both, which results in a graph of the same shape and size, but in a different position. SLIDE!</p><p><b>Rotation</b>-A transformation that turns a figure about a fixed point at a given angle and a given direction. SPIN!</p><p><b>Reflection- </b>A transformation of a figure that flips (or mirrors) the figure across a line. FLIP!</p><p><b>Transformation- </b>A change in size or position of a figure.</p><p><b>Composite Transformation</b>- A combination of transformations.</p><p><b>Rigid Motion-</b> a transformation that preserves length, angle measure, and area.</p><p><b>Edge-</b> A line segment joining two vertices in a geometric figure.</p><p><b>Symmetry- </b>A line along which a plane figure can be folded so the two parts match.</p><p><b>ASA triangle congruence-</b> two triangles are congruent if two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of the other.</p><p><b>AAS triangle Congruence-</b> If two angles and the non-included side of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding two angles and the non-included side of another triangle then the two triangles are congruent.</p><p><b>SSS Triangle Congruence-</b> When three sides of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding three sides of another triangle then the triangles are congruent.</p><p><b>SAS Triangle Congruence- </b>two triangles are congruent if two sides and the included angle of one triangle are congruent to two sides and the included angle of the other.</p><p><b>Rotational Symmetry- </b>the ability to rotate an object less than 360 degrees and the object looks like it did before it rotated.</p>]]></description>
