Hand out a couple of rolls of (thick) toilet paper; Ss choose to take between 1 and 6 sheets.  After they’ve chosen, T says, “write one Q for each sheet you took” (Greedy ones have to write more!)  Afterwards, they ask Qs in small groups.

T has flashcards ready.  Two Ss come to front of class and stand 10 paces apart facing away from each other.  T reveals the flashcard - first S to turn around, with a gun-drawing-and-shooting motion, and call out the word wins.  Best out of three before the winner faces a new challenger.

         <description><![CDATA[Incorrect Reading:
Students sit in teams.  Each student has a copy of the text.  One student from each team stands up.  The teacher reads the text but replaces a word with another word.  The first student to shout ‘Stop’ and correct the teacher is awarded points.  The next two students stand up and the teacher continues.

Students sit in a circle on chairs.  The teacher writes words and resulting actions on the board –eg ‘don’t have’ – move left, ‘have’ – move right, ‘must’ – sit on the floor.  Either the students or the teacher reads.  When the students hear the chosen words they move accordingly.

One student stands in the middle and the other students sit in chairs in a circle.  S1 says ‘Change chairs if you … (eg have black hair)’.  Everyone with black hair has to swap seats, while S1 steals a seat leaving another S2 in the middle.  S2 then continues.

         <description><![CDATA[Chants
Ss sit in a circle.  T starts them off tapping one foot on the floor, in rhythm.  Then adds in the first line of a chant (eg. On a blue and sunny day…), which the whole class then repeats in rhythm, about 3 or 4 times, before the T adds in the next line (eg. . On a blue and sunny day… Little Johnny went out to play).  Repeat until Ss are saying the whole chant.

	find two words you don’t know, and write them on a piece of paper - T puts all words on a single sheet, photocopies, and has Ss race to see who can find all words the quickest
	find three example sentences with the word ‘at’ - which words come after it’?
