Infographic: Knowing your Roof

When was the last time you got up on your roof to have a look around and see if it was in need of repair? If you are like most homeowners, you might not remember the last time you check it out, but having a healthy roof is important to ensure that you and your family are protected in the long term. When you do have damage it’s easy enough to schedule a quick roof inspection; what might be harder is knowing whether the amount of damage your roof suffered is enough to warrant a full roof replacement, or if it can be repaired. Most asphalt roofing is designed to last around 15 to 25 years, depending on things like how well it was installed, the quality of the materials, and exposure to extreme weather. If your roof is getting toward the latter end of that range, it’s probably better to replace it now rather than spend money on repairs only to find out you have to spend more on a replacement within just a couple of years.
