It was cool around this time. When the police arrived, four boys were present surrounding Grant Perkins. The four boys were John Michael Forres (his family owns the land), Shepard Moore, Henry Carlisle, and Logan McCullar. The police were told by one of the boys that Grant happened to be shot by a rifle. The only rifle on the scene was a Remington that the boys claimed was Grant’s. Apparently when Grant was shot, the impact knocked him out of his boots a few feet away. The police noticed right away that some of the boys were visibly upset. The others just seemed to be shocked. When questioned the boys gave the same answer: “I didn’t do it” or “The Remington was Grant’s gun.” Police searched the body and found marks on Grant’s body that probably shouldn’t have been there. The only question is why? Why were there strange marks on Grant’s body? What happened in the last 24 before Grant’s death? If Grant’s death was an accident, then why did all the boys provide the same story?
