1. This is grotesque because spin the bottle used to be a popular game and now this photo shows it as something that's going to decide your fate.
2. This is a little ironic because again, it used to be a game and now it controls your fate but also the only choices it offers are some of the worst choices ever.
3. This is an understatement because the choices aren't even everything that can happen, you can ruin someone else's life or family, too.
4. This is an incongruity because when you think about spin the bottle you think of it as a silly party game that might be fun after you've drank but usually is just awkward for the shyer kids, but now the game is literally dictating the rest of your life.
5. This is inflation because spin the bottle is a dumb game you play when you are like 14, the photo is giving the game a lot of credit for really being able to do something for your life.
6. This is mock encomium because when you play spin the bottle if you land on someone cute you feel like you did good, and on this photo no matter what you land on, if you are dui it seems like a good idea, but will inadvertently ruin your life.

1. This is foil, because some of the options seem really bad (death) and some seem less bad (fines)
2. This is a contradiction because spin the bottle really is a small party game that's probably more fun after some drinks, but this version ruins your life or somebody else's.
3. This is syllogism, I keep saying the game is a small party game, but this photo argues that prom is a big party and after prom is a big party and both come with responsibilities. My friend went to after prom last year and got very drunk, but she didn't drive home, she called her mom and got in trouble.
4. This is a parody to (you guessed it) spin the bottle. They are making fun of the party game by making it something awful.
5. The options provided by the bottle are kind of something you would find in a dystopia. There are only bad outcomes.
6. There is an anaphora when it says 'serious' multiple times.

Like I said, my friend went to prom and after prom and got drunk but didn't drive home, so she didn't decide to play fate. Underage drinking happens all the time, and sometimes they drive after they drink. It's known by everyone that it happens. Nothing is done about it. Justin Bieber was arrested at age 19, and only had to stay in jail for a couple hours. He is a famous teenager who got arrested with no consequences. Society is trying to show what can happen when you drink and drive, and it isn't anything good. I've compared this to the game spin the bottle because it seems like with either version you are playing fate. This also relates to the photo with the wheel because they both show kind of how karma and life work, both are like a game that you have to be lucky enough to win.

1. When he says he's going to take a spin it is grotesque because he means in the car and on the wheel and the outcome for both are bad.
2. This has Irony because they say don't drink and drive but people don't understand it, people drink and drive every day. The man is going to spin the wheel and probably his car if he's had enough to drink.
3. This is an understatement because while it does show all the stuff that could happen if you decide to drive under the influence, it doesn't tell about the weight you will carry when you know some awful thing you did.
4. This is diminution because it is taking the wheel, like Wheel Of Fortune, but instead of winning money you win jail or the irreversible weight of the terrible thing you did.
5. This is Mock encomium because it's kind of like 'congratulations, you won a Dui, a trip to jail, and you hit a child! But don't worry, you'll have a bed to sleep in and three meals a day'
6. This is in a way, a parody to Wheel of Fortune because you spin and win stuff, but the tv show is a lot better than anything you can get from driving under the influence.

1. There is foil because some of the options seem better than others. I would rather total my car than go to jail or wreck a family.
2. This is an epiphany because the wheel is literal, in the sense that at least one of those things is very likely to happen to him.
3. This has an allegory, he means he is going for a drive, but again, he is also going to spin the wheel of misfortune.
4. There is ethos because you question his ethics for deciding it was ok to get drunk and then go for a spin.
5. There are pathos because you know he is going to ruin someone's life and you feel bad even if it's his own life, just because he chose to drink and drive doesn't mean he has to have a bad rest of his life or a shortened life.
6. The mood in this piece is that of impending doom because he is going to get in the car and drive on the interstate or highway and something bad is bound to happen.

Going for a spin can mean a number of things, a car ride, a wash in the washing machine, the wheel of misfortune... anything. He uses it in the last, and it's a problem. There's nothing wrong with having a little drink here and there, but it is a problem when you drink and then decide to drive. You are putting your and someone else's life at stake and it ruins lives. He is talking to someone, presumably his wife, so why didn't she try and stop him? Is she okay with it? She shouldn't be, because she should know (if she's sober) that he is about to go out and ruin some people's lives, maybe even hers. This reminds me of the actual game Life where you spin a wheel and do what it says. Both you and the man are at the mercy of the wheel. This also reminds me of a movie called Nerve where there are dares they have to complete to win and each is more and more ridiculous and it relates because the man kept drinking more and more until he was ridiculously intoxicated. This also reminds me of a video game where they encourage you to go to your 'safehouse' and then they have alcohol that you can drink and the only way you know it was too much is when it starts you over in the hospital. It also lets you go out after you've drank and drive and it makes it blurry like it might be if you actually did that.

1. This is grotesque because it relates to a meme about making bad choices.
2. This is an incongruity because you wouldn't expect most teenagers to choose a cemetery, but since they're driving drunk it's likely they will end up there.
3. This is invective because it is making fun of the teenagers ability to make good decisions.
4. This is an exaggeration because not everyone makes it to a cemetery when they drive while intoxicated. I have friends who have drove while under the influence of something and they (thankfully) didn't end up at a cemetery.
5. This is irony because the driver could have taken the other exit, putting him with other drivers just like him, which would relate to one of my satirical articles, but instead he took the 'easy' route for him and headed to the cemetery.
6. This is a parody to the meme where there is a good choice and a bad choice and the car is swerving over to the bad choice.

There is pathos because you know that by the car full of teenagers ending up in the cemetery, it just ruined the life of many families.
3. There is foil because of the two, I believe the cemetery would be the better choice, if it was just me in the car. I wouldn't want to go out with a bunch of other drunk drivers knowing that even more of us could get hurt. Also, I wouldn't want to drink and drive in the first place.
4. There is a paradox because it seems like teenagers who drink and drive don't always end up in the hospital, but a lot of the time they do. In my friends case, they didn't, but sometimes they do.
5. Both options seem like a dystopia. Again, I would choose not to drink and drive, but either of the two options seems absolutely terrible.
6.

Like I said, I wouldn't drink and drive, but society sees a problem with it and doesn't stop it. Again, Justin Bieber was 19 when he got pulled over for dui. He was underage but nothing happened. My cousin who is 17 got pulled over for dui, and since he lived in a small town, the officer took him home to his dad where all he had to do was community service for a week. Underage drinking and driving is not getting addressed the way it should be, people should not be getting a slap on the wrist, they should be getting real punishments. It ruins families. Lives. It ruins a lot of things, but it isn't taken seriously. And again with the meme this relates to, it's an obvious good choice on the straight path, and then a bad choice where you have to swerve across traffic. The meme and this photo show that reckless driving (and in this case intoxicated driving) are ok.

There is inductive because since that pub watered down its alcohol, it makes it seem like it's something that all the pubs do (and maybe it is)
5. There is propaganda because the man is in a way spreading bad news about the pub watering down their alcohol making you pay more if you want to be more intoxicated.
6. The tone of the man who got pulled over is angry. Not because he got pulled over, but because he passed the breathalyzer test after the pub watered down his alcohol.

The pub watered down his alcohol, which is obvious, and he was driving while intoxicated. That is a problem, except he passed the breathalyzer test. Since he passed he is free to go, but there is still the problem that he thought he had enough to drink to go to jail for driving. Legally, the cop can't take the man into jail for a night, but he can spend time with him performing sobriety tests so that some more alcohol gets out of his system before he lets him drive home. The officer knows what it's like to have to tell a family that their loved one is dead because someone got behind the wheel drunk. This relates to real pubs across the world watering down their alcohol so they can charge more and since it's not doing what people want they are spending even more. This also relates to some videos where the bartender is getting in trouble by a drunk customer who knows they are paying too much for 80% water. This also relates to the fact that since the man passed the breathalyzer test he is free to go but is still technically drunk and liable to hit someone or something. It's awful that he was still free to go.
