Principle events are offered only to first year DECA members, so take advantage of them while you can! They cover each of the 4 main clusters in DECA–Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Marketing, and Business Administration. 

Individual Series events are concentrated towards specific aspects of a cluster or business concept. They start from the 4 clusters and branch out to more specific concepts! (ex: Food Marketing (FMS) is a specific event in the Marketing cluster!)

Team Decision Making events are the same as individual events...but with a partner! If you and a buddy are interested in the same thing—go for a team event!

Written events are just that—written! You'll receive your tasks before the competitions and have time to write your report before the competition. You also don't have to do a role-play for these events!

Virtual Business events are simulated events that you complete at home in teams of 1-3. The 4 main "clusters" of DECA include Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Marketing, and Business Administration, and each have their own Principle event. It can be as big or small of a commitment as you want! We recommend that all members come to C-day meetings, especially before competitions. 

There are 3 levels of competitions here in PA: Districts (1 day), States (3 days), and Internationals (5 days).
