         <description><![CDATA[<p>DuFour (2004) repeated a similar statement throughout this article. DeFour (2004) stated, "...focus on learning rather than teaching, work collaboratively..." (p.11). This calls for a shift not only in personal mindset, but the culture of the school (DeFour, 2004). All individuals within the school are encouraged to have common language, similar ideals, and a belief that professional learning communities will work (Defour,2004). Overall, the focus is on student achievement. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A true "Professional Learning Community" is one in which learning takes place, educators work collaboratively, and each person is held accountable. The overall "big idea" or purpose is to ensure that all student learning. This is a shift in thinking, where focus and emphasis was mainly place on the teaching and what is being taught. When schools begin to function as a professional learning community teachers understand the importance of ensuring that every student is learning and progressing, including those struggling students. It becomes the mission and focus, and top priority for all. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A professional Learning Community is a time where educators in the same profession come together to collaborate on the success of the school. These professional community times require looking at data and other big ideas that Duford (2004) suggest. Duford (2004) explained how we have devalued the real meaning of a professional learning community. This time is for educators to think about student learning with the outcome in mind. For teachers this looks like looking at data to set goals and create strategies that work for our students (Duford, 2004). For example, the teachers can identify students who need additional support in phonics. Once students are identified, the teachers will use that time to create a plan or strategy to move the students toward mastery. The meeting should have designated time to analyze data to show if growth was made, and to explain why or why not. Considering the big ideas that Duford (2004) explained, professional learning communities allow teachers to improve their classroom practices to see high achievement. </p>]]></description>

Its a professional practice to collaborate and learn new stuff together as a team. This is to practice support system to each teacher, just to ensure that learners will learn something from the four corners of the classroom. </p>]]></description>
